QuantumGate and NEC GCC partner on post-quantum security for critical infrastructure

QuantumGate, an Abu Dhabi-based quantum-safe cybersecurity company and a subsidiary of VentureOne, the venture builder of the Advanced Technology Research Council (ATRC), has announced a strategic collaboration with NEC Corporation, a leading global IT and network transformation services provider, to accelerate the deployment of post-quantum security, sovereign cybersecurity and cyber-resilience solutions for strategic organisations across critical infrastructure and telecommunications in the United Arab Emirates.

The collaboration addresses two risks that security leaders increasingly need to manage together. The first is long-term quantum risk: sensitive data with long confidentiality requirements may be exposed once cryptographically relevant quantum computers become available. The second is the current threat environment, in which state-sponsored actors, AI-enabled malware and coordinated hacktivist groups are targeting government, energy, telecommunications, transport and other critical sectors.

QuantumGate and NEC’s GCC branch will support organisations across four priority areas:

Cryptographic asset visibility and inventory: Identifying, mapping and assessing cryptographic assets across networks, applications, devices and data to establish a baseline for quantum-risk exposure.

Post-quantum readiness planning: Developing actionable migration roadmaps aligned with regulatory frameworks, international standards and sector-specific compliance requirements, while addressing cryptographic agility and sovereign control.

Scalable migration programmes: Expanding pilot implementations into phased, multi-year programmes that support the transition to quantum-safe cryptography across complex enterprise environments.

Sovereign cyber-resilience deployment: Deploying QuantumGate’s security technologies alongside post-quantum migration to strengthen protection across identity, networks and endpoints while giving organisations greater control over critical security infrastructure. This includes phishing-resistant password-less authentication, QSphere for sovereign post-quantum secure access and Secure VMI for device-independent enterprise mobility.

NEC GCC will lead deployment and integration, supporting implementation and operationalisation within mission-critical environments. Its experience in large-scale infrastructure transformation will help organisations move from assessment to execution, from cryptographic discovery through to secure access and enterprise mobility.

Janne Hirvimies, Chief Technology Officer of QuantumGate, said: “Over the past 12 months, we’ve seen clear progress and growing awareness around quantum security, and the focus is now shifting to execution. Migration is a complex, multi-year effort and it builds on the same foundation as strong cyber-resilience today. Together with NEC GCC, we are helping organisations reduce exposure across identity, networks and endpoints while building the cryptographic infrastructure they will rely on in the quantum era.”

Tamer Bdran, Senior Vice President and Managing Director at NEC GCC, said: “Critical infrastructure and telecommunications operators need a partner who can take them from assessment to secure, scalable deployment. By combining NEC’s systems integration capabilities with QuantumGate’s post-quantum and sovereign cybersecurity technologies, we can support government entities, enterprises and telecommunications operators through every stage of that transition.”
