Syniverse and Carahsoft partner to bring connectivity solutions to US public sector

Carahsoft will distribute Syniverse’s global connectivity technologies to government agencies and first responders through its reseller network and public sector procurement contracts.

Syniverse has appointed Carahsoft Technology as its US Public Sector distributor, making its connectivity solutions available to government agencies and first responders through Carahsoft’s reseller partner network.

Under the agreement, Syniverse’s technologies will be available through several US government procurement vehicles, including the GSA Schedule, NASA Solutions for Enterprise-Wide Procurement (SEWP) V, Information Technology Enterprise Solutions – Software 2 (ITES-SW2), NASPO ValuePoint and OMNIA Partners.

The partnership is intended to expand access to Syniverse’s IPX Network and Emergency Messaging Service (EMS) across federal, state and local government organisations.

“Syniverse strives to deliver the secure, resilient communications that organisations depend on when every second counts,” said Bob Chiodo, Executive Vice President and Chief Revenue Officer at Syniverse.

“Partnering with Carahsoft enables us to extend the reach of Syniverse’s mission-critical communications solutions to more federal, state and local government agencies through a trusted partner with deep Public Sector expertise. Together, we are committed to helping government organisations and first responders strengthen their ability to communicate, coordinate and serve their communities with confidence when it matters most.”

Syniverse’s IPX Network operates as a private telecommunications network separate from the public Internet and is designed to maintain communications when public networks are congested or degraded.

According to Syniverse, the infrastructure supports emergency messaging for more than 22,000 US public safety agencies and support organisations and draws on more than 850 network connections worldwide.

The company’s white-labelled EMS uses the infrastructure to prioritise message delivery and provides geo-fenced group communications for response teams. The technology is designed to support communications between emergency personnel including EMTs and firefighters during disasters and other large-scale incidents.

“Government agencies and first responders depend on resilient, secure communications to protect the communities they serve, and we’re pleased to partner with Syniverse to help expand access to these mission-critical capabilities,” said Mark Demerse, Program Executive for 5G Solutions at Carahsoft.

“By combining Syniverse’s trusted communications platform with our Public Sector expertise and extensive network of reseller partners, we can help government agencies more easily procure and deploy the technologies they need to strengthen emergency response, improve operational resilience and better fulfill their missions.”

The agreement adds Syniverse to Carahsoft’s portfolio of technologies available to US Public Sector organisations through its reseller ecosystem and government procurement contracts.
