TXP, a systems integrator specialising in technology consulting, development and resourcing, has announced its acquisition of Vigil, an AWS Select Tier Services Partner, for an undisclosed sum. Vigil brings deep expertise in AWS-based cloud transformation, software engineering and technology advisory services, which will complement and further expand TXP’s existing cloud skills and service delivery capabilities. TXP is backed by Aliter Capital, the private equity ‘buy-and-build’ specialist in the UK support services sector.
With a dedicated technology team of nearly 100 people, based largely in Portugal and Brazil, Vigil brings an impressive client list including ITV, Trainline, Convex and DC Thomson Group. The addition of Vigil’s software engineering capability will expand TXP’s nearshore and offshore offering, supporting the company’s strategy of providing value for money without compromising on quality.
John Antunes, CEO at TXP, said: “Our acquisition of Vigil is an important part of our strategy to comprehensively meet the needs of our existing and future clients. Vigil’s best-in-class AWS skills dovetail with our existing Microsoft capabilities, meaning we can now offer customers greater choice and expanded technical expertise. This opens a broad range of new opportunities as we help organisations modernise their businesses at scale and pace.”
Phil Wright, CEO at Vigil and his senior management team will remain with the business, working closely with TXP and Aliter to deliver ambitious growth plans. “Becoming part of TXP is a great fit, as both companies are culturally very similar. We share a sharp focus on creating solutions tailored to our clients’ unique requirements, helping them transform their operations, drive innovation and maintain a strong focus on people. We’re excited to see what the future holds as we integrate our business within TXP,” Wright said.
The acquisition aligns with Aliter Capital’s buy-and-build strategy to create a UK-leading Digital Transformation provider. Aliter is focused on adding further relevant skills and capabilities to TXP through acquisitions, while also supporting the company’s organic growth. Vigil is the group’s fourth acquisition, following the purchase of Gen modernisation specialist Metatech in May 2025.
