The additional distributors we will be working with come as a result of the changing needs from customers and to provide better access to VMware products, solutions and skills, commented Mark Reynolds, VMware Southern Africa.

VMware, a global vendor in cloud infrastructure and business mobility, made changes to its distribution partners in Southern, West, East and Central Africa, appointing new distributors to help provide resellers in Africa, better access to VMware solutions.

“The additional distributors we will be working with come as a result of the changing needs from customers and to provide better access to VMware products, solutions and skills,” commented Mark Reynolds, VMware Southern Africa. “It was imperative for us to relook at our existing distribution landscape to ensure we had the right partners in place to better serve our resellers in the region.”

“There are still huge opportunities for compute virtualisation on the continent, but there is also a desire amongst customers to leapfrog old technologies and deploy new ones, such as hybrid cloud and software-defined architecture. We need partners that will not only strive to help resellers better serve their customers goals, but that will also aggressively drive our new solutions, thereby offering customers the value of choice,” added Reynolds.

Following an RFP process throughout the region the authorised distributors for the region include:
