Nuvias signs EMEA agreement with Polycom, expands with VASCO
Value-added distributor Nuvias signed a pan-EMEA distribution agreement with Polycom. The announcement follows a successful three-year relationship between Polycom and SIPHON in the UK and Benelux. SIPHON was previously acquired by Nuvias in 2016. The new, expanded relationship will continue through the Nuvias Unified Communications Practice.
Nuvias will focus on the integration of Polycom VoIP phones into complete end-to-end solutions for the hosted voice market. Recent research by Cavell Group in the UK said the market had grown 11% over the last six months, and hosted VoIP users had now passed the 3 million mark, with much of that growth happening in the last couple of years.
Building on SIPHON’s success in the UK, which saw it become one of Polycom’s key global distributors, Nuvias will start the roll-out in France and Italy, followed by Germany and Spain. In addition to the hosted voice market, Nuvias will also offer complete Microsoft Skype for Business enterprise solutions using Polycom voice and video endpoints.
“Our expanded partnership with Nuvias will enable us to reach new markets in the EMEA region,” said Glynn Jones, Vice President EMEA Channels and Advanced Technology Group for Polycom UK. “Nuvias has a strong portfolio of complementary technologies that our customers will benefit from when it comes to an end-to-end unified communications experience.”
Steve Harris, EVP Unified Communications for Nuvias, and previously Managing Director of SIPHON, said: “Polycom is a key part of our best-in-class strategy to deliver end-to-end unified communications solutions and support across EMEA. Polycom gives us leading-edge technology solutions along with a first-class understanding of UC markets and support at every stage of engagement.”
Previously in September, Nuvias and VASCO Data Security International, a global leader in digital solutions, including identity, security and business productivity, expanded their existing distributor agreement, increasing the number of EMEA countries covered from two to 21.
The fast-growing value-added distributor will play a key role in driving further growth and meeting demand across EMEA for VASCO’s trusted security solutions, including two-factor authentication, transaction data signing, e-signatures, identity management and secure access to the cloud for online and mobile applications.
Previous to Nuvias’ acquisition of Wick Hill, VASCO had an ongoing ten-year distributor relationship in the UK and Germany with Wick Hill. Both Nuvias and VASCO are now looking to replicate this successful partnership across EMEA, with an initial focus on France, Poland and Benelux.
“Increasing reports of stolen passwords along with the arrival of GDPR and a growing need for cloud and wi-fi authentication are all major factors in driving the market for solutions that combat online and mobile fraud,” said Nuvias Group’s EVP Cyber Security, Ian Kilpatrick.
“VASCO’s range of digital trust solutions are already delivering growth for us and our partners in many regions and we are really excited by this expansion of our longstanding relationship.”
“Partnerships with organisations like Nuvias enable VASCO to maximise its channel business opportunities,” said VASCO’s Channel Sales Manager EMEA, David De Pauw. “Nuvias’ knowledge of VASCO’s products and its presence in more than 20 countries across EMEA will help further VASCO’s success and offer value to a broader-reaching end user base.”
VASCO is a global vendor in delivering trust and business productivity solutions to the digital market.
Nuvias Group is a pan-EMEA, high value distribution business. The Group’s portfolio covers IT solutions, with the focus currently on three areas – Cyber Security, Advanced Networking and Unified Communications. In July 2017, Nuvias added Benelux value added distributor and security specialist DCB to the Group. All four award-winning companies had previously demonstrated ability to provide technology solutions from global vendors.
